BACON, Adolph - Adolph BACON, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar BACON of Sturgeon, died at
the home of his parents Sunday morning at 6:30 o'clock. Services were held
at the home Monday afternoon at three o'clock in charge of Rev. B. B.
HARRISON, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of McDonald. Interment
was in Robinson's Run cemetery.

BAILEY, Margaret - Miss Margaret BAILEY died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah
ANDREWS in Station street, Thursday afternoon, March 21st, at 4:30 o'clock.
Miss BAILEY was born on the old BAILEY homestead, known as the W. S. WORK
farm, in Robinson township, May 26, 1846. Thirty-five years ago she located
in Burgettstown, where she resided for thirty years, coming to McDonald five
years ago, to the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah ANDREWS. Miss BAILEY has
been in poor health since coming here, being confined to her bed for the
past two years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sarah ANDREWS, and one
brother, M. C. BAILEY, of Zenia, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at the ANDREWS home in Station
street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. W. D. IRONS,
D. D., pastor of the First United Presbyterian church. Interment will be
private, Friday, in the Robinson cemetery.

BAILIFF, Joseph C. - Joseph C BAILIFF, formerly one of the best-known business
men in Allegheny, died yesterday at the Presbyterian hospital,
Sherman avenue, Allegheny. Mr BAILIFF suffered an attack of
pneumonia early last summer, which turned to consumption,
and he was taken to the hospital several weeks ago. He was
in his 78th year. Mr BAILIFF came here from England about
50 years ago. He was the senior member of the firm of
BAILIFF & BROWN, Federal street, plumbers, from a short time
after his arrival in this country until his retirement from
business in 1875. In this capacity he acquired a large
business acquaintance not only in the two cities, but in
the entire county. A brother lives in California, and a
sister in Ontario, Canada. He leaves a wife and one son,
A T BAILIFF, who resides at Undercliff. It is probable that
Mr BAILIFF's remains will be cremated.

BAKER, Mrs. Clarence of Salisbury, PA: Mrs. Marie E. BAKER age 74, of
RD 1, died Wednesday in Meyersdale Community Hospital on May 20, 1981.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Barney GROSSKINSKI
and Matilda (HANFT) GROSSKINSKI.
She retired from Meyersdale Mfg. Co. with 22 years service, and a
member of St. John's Lutheran Church, The Cove and Greenville Ladies
Aid and Homemakers.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence A. BAKER; one son Blaine C.
BAKER, RD 3, Somerset; one daughter Mrs. Helen L. BOWMAN of RD 3
Meyersdale, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Thomas Funeral Home after 2 p.m.
today.
Services will be conducted tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in Greenville
Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Fetter officiating. Interment in

Mrs. Ball, 57, Dies; Church, Lodge Leader
Mrs. Elizabeth R. Ball, 57, wife of James W. Ball, of 1517 First street,
Natrona Heights, died in Allegheny Valley Hospital at 2:35 Sunday afternoon.
Although she was in ill health for several years, her death was unexpected.
She was admitted to the hospital Friday.
Mrs. Ball, daughter of T. K. and the late Minnie E. Ross, was born in Ford
City. Her family moved to Tarentum when she was about a year old and she has
resided in this community since that time.
Mrs. Ball was active in church and lodge work. She was a member of Grace
Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, Order of Eastern Star in Tarentum and a
past matron of Amaranth in New Kensington. She was also a member of First Ward
YMCA Auxiliary and Blue Star Mothers in Tarentum. Mrs. Ball was chairman of
the social committee of Tarentum Camp Grounds for several summer seasons and
was a member of Progressive Class of Grace Church.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters: Mrs. Harry (Jeanne) Meckey, Jr.
and Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Jendrey, Natrona Heights, and Mrs. Wylie (Doris)
Oldham, Harrisburg; her father, T. K. Ross, Tarentum; four sisters: Mrs. Ralph
(Dora) Sims, Tarentum; Mrs. Vyda Reynolds, Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Willavene
Imms, Weirton, W. Va., and Mrs. Leonard (Vivian) Knabelkamp, Buffalo, N.Y.;
one brother. Rev. L. Laverne Ross, Shawnee, Okla., and nine grandchildren.
Friends are being received in Ferver Funeral Home, Wood street and Fourth
avenue, Tarentum, where funeral service will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon
by Rev. Robert Harlan Cairns. Burial will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery.

BALL, James -
James W. Ball, 81, of 1517 First St., Natrona Heights, was dead on arrival
yesterday (Sept 20, 1978)at 9:45 a.m. pn Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona
Heights. He had been ill one year.
The Tarentum area resident since 1917 was born in Parnassus, New
Kensington, on June 5, 1897, to Henry and Emma Darrell Ball. He was a former
Canton and Alliance, Ohio resident.
Mr. Ball was a former auditor for Tarentum Borough and the former Tarentum
School District. For a number of years, he served as secretary of Pittsburgh
and Tarentum Camp Meeting Association of which he was a member for 39 years.
Before retiring in 1961, he was employed by Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. in
Brackenridge and Pittsburgh for 42 years and was a payroll supervisor.
Mr. Ball was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, and
the church's X.L. Sunday School Class. He was a member of Pollock Lodge 502 of
F&AM in Tarentum, Pittsburgh Consistory, Syria Temple of Pittsburgh and the
MORA Club in Tarentum.
An avid gardener, he enjoyed raising roses.
On Jan. 15, 1955, he and the former Mary Hermann McNulty were married.
Besides hiscwife of 23 years, he is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Harry
J. (Jeanne) Meckey Jr. and Mrs. Ruth Jendrey, both of Natrona Heights, and
Mrs. John (Doris) Dickenson of Middletown; a step-son, George McNulty of
Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell
of Canton, Ohio; a half-brother, Mitchell Ball of Canton, Ohio, and a half-
sister, Mrs. E.H. (Eliza) John of Cleveland.
His first wife of 37 years, Mrs. Elisabeth Ross Ball, died in 1954.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Krynicki Funeral Home Inc., Second at Corbet,
Tarentum. His pastor, the Rev. Jack G. Ammon, will conduct a service Saturday
at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge. Burial will be in
Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, MORA Club members will conduct a service
tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. and Pollock Lodge 502 members will conduct a service
tomorrow at 9 p.m., both in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial
contributions be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund,
Brackenridge.

BALLAS, GEORGE L.
George L. Ballas died at the Mercy hospital at 11 o'clock Saturday morning
of pneumonia, following an illness of several days. He was born in Pittsburg
29 years ago, and was employed as a fireman on the Pittsburg division of the
P.R.R. His wife survives, with his parents, two brothers, and three sisters,
all of Virginia. The remains will be taken to Disputante, Va., this evening
for burial. The body may be viewed at the Stevens mortuary at any time.

BALPH -
St. Clairsville, O., Jan. 17. - Rev. Dr. Thomas Balph, for nearly 34 years
pastor of the United Presbyterian church here, died in Cleveland, O., yesterday
morning. He was born 81 years ago in Butler, Pa., where a number of relatives
survive. He was a member of the board of trustees of Westminster college while
pastor of a Pittsburg church, and was until recently, a member of the board of
the Allegheny Theological Seminary. He became pastor of the local church in
1874, continuing until his recent illness, when he was taken to Cleveland. His
widow survives.

Miss ANN ECCA ERWIN BALTZ
Miss Ann Ecca Erwin BALTZ died yesterday at her home, No. 216 Frederick
avenue, Sewickley. She was born and passed her life in that borough.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her mother,
Mrs Mary A BATIZ (sic), survives, with the following brothers and
sisters: Mrs Jennie F (sic), Miss Elizabeth E, William and John
BALTZ, all of Sewickley.

Early this morning, Anton DANGERT (sic) was struck by the Walls
express at Turtle Creek. His left thigh was fractured, scalp
lacerated, and he was injured internally. His home is said to

BARBER - Ella BARBER, aged 28 years, died at her home in Baltimore, Md.,
Friday, January 6th, 1922. The body was brought tot he home of her
grandmother, Mrs. Virginia AUSTIN in East Lincoln avenue. Funeral services
were held in the Baptist church on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment
was in the Robinson Run cemetery.

Jno BARBOUR and was born in PA. His home address was 141 Greenfield
avenue. He was buried in South Side Cemetery on March 7, 1895.

BARBOUR's, Robert obituary appears on page 21 of the Tuesday, December
13, 1932 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Robert's obituary
confirms that he died on December 10, 1932 and that he was the husband
of (Mary McAdams Barbour.) Of far more interest is the article that
appeared in the December Issue of Greater Pittsburgh magazine:
Robert W. Barbour, field representative of the Chamber of Commerce and
friend of practically every business man in Pittsburgh, died suddenly
last Saturday, December 10th, in his home at 5637 Rippey Street. He was
stricken at the corner of Wood Street and Fifth Avenue about eleven
o'clock in the morning; and Daniel Dwyer, a former member of the Chamber,
recognized him as one of the Chamber's staff and brought him to the
office, from whence he was rushed by ambulance to his home. There he
passed way less than an hour later.
Bob "as everybody affectionately called him" had apparently been in
good health when he left the office to make a business call, and his
associates all cherish, as their last words with him, some jovial
remark. That is as it should be, since Bob was one of the best-natured
men and one of the most respected who ever trod Pittsburgh streets. No
one can say with regret, "I wish he had not spoken that way to me!"
Mr. Barbour was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, May 7, 1870, from which
his parents moved to Philadelphia. When he was seventeen years of age
he came to Pittsburgh.
On April 30, 1910, Bob entered the employ of the Pittsburgh Chamber of
Commerce and soon became Assistant Secretary, remaining in that position
until February 28, 1918, when he went to Wellsville, Ohio, as secretary
of the Chamber of Commerce there. Later he returned to fill a similar
position in the Pittsburgh Board of Trade (now the East Liberty Chamber
of Commerce); but in June, 1922, he again joined the staff of the
Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce as Field representative, in which
capacity he met most of the business men of the city and made
innumerable friends.

BARENBREGGE -
Bernard H. Barenbregge
Bernard H. Barenbregge, 62 years old, is dead at his residence , 2002 Carson
Street, South Side. He was born in Germany and came to this country in 1865
and settled in the South Side. He was employed for five years at a novelty
works located where the Baltimore and Ohio Station now stands. He left the
novelty works to open a clothing store at 2002-04 Carson street. He was a
member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. St. Peter's Brotherhood and of
the C. M. B. A. His death was due to pneumonia.
Mr. Barenbregge is survived by his widow, Magdelena, and one son, Henry, and by
two daughters, Florence and Elizabeth Barenbregge, and two grandchildren, all
of the South Side. He also leaves two sisters in Germany.

BARKER, James
James Barker, of Pittsburg, a brother of Professor Joseph Barker,
formerly of this city, and now of Trenton, N.J., died at the home of
his sister, Mrs. R. S. Hanson, 755 Franklin street, Johnstown, at 10:40
o'clock Tuesday night after a long illness with a complication of
diseases. Deceased was born at Seaham Harbor, County Durham, England,
on August 6, 1874, and was a son of Samuel and Mary Barker, deceased.
The family came to America in 1888 and settled in Clearfield county and
later Mr. Barker went to Pittsburg where he was employed by the Jones &
Laughlin company until taken ill and compelled to relinquish work. He
was a member of the Trinity Protestant Episcopal church, Pittsburg, the
Knights of Pythias of Johnstown and the Loyal Order of Moose, of
Pittsburg. He is survived by these brothers and sisters, Mrs. R. S.
Hanson and Charles and John Barker, of Johnstown; Professor Joseph
Barker and Miss Alice Barker, of Trenton, and Osmund Barker, of
Ishpeming, Mich. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Friday
afternoon from the Hanson home and interment will follow in Grandview
cemetery, Johnstown.

BARKER, CAPT. JOHN A.
Capt. John A. Barker, aged 77, died Tuesday at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. M. A. Scranton, in Baltimore, Md., where he had
made his home for the last 13 years. Capt. Barker was born in old Allegheny,
his family being among the pioneer settlers there. He was a nephew of the
late Joseph H. Barker, former mayor of Pittsburgh, and was a captain in the
Fourteenth Regiment, N. G. P. He attended school in old Allegheny. He was a
member of Past Monument Castle, Lodge 55, Knights of the Mystic Chain.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by five sons, John, James, Burt, Roy and
Guy Barker, all of Pittsburgh.

BARRICKMAN, MRS. ELIZABETH
Mrs. Elizabeth Lucinda Barrickman, 64, died yesterday afternoon
at her home, 514 Railroad St., Dravosburg, after an extended illness.
A resident of this district her entire life, she was born in Mifflin
Township (now West Mifflin Borough), March 28, 1881. Her parents were
the late Joseph and Mary Flading Boyer. Surviving are her husband, James
S. Barrickman; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Kendall, of Dravosburg; and two brothers,
Joseph Boyer, of Dravosburg and William Boyer, of Lincoln Place.
Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Berkey Funeral
Home in charge of her pastor, the Rev. J. E. Hyinger of St. John`s Lutheran
Church Dravosburg. Interment is to be in Jefferson Memorial Park.

Friends will be received at the Finney Funeral Home in Dravosburg after
7 p.m. today for James S. Barrickman, 71, who died today in McKeesport Hospital.
He resided at Richard`s Hotel in Dravosburg.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home by the
Rev. Dr. Samuel Boerstler and burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
Mr. Barrickman was born July 8, 1886, in Jones Station, West Elizabeth, a
son of the late Peter and Thursa (sic) Blatchford Barrickman. He had been a
Dravosburg resident 45 years and was a member of the St. John`s Lutheran Church there.
He was a retired employee of the Dravosburg Dock Co., a member of Coal Valley
Council 98, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Glassport Aerie 1185, Fraternal
Order of Eagles, and the Dravosburg Fire Department No. 1.
Husband of the late Elizabeth Boyer Barrickman, he is survived by a brother Edward
Barrickman of West Elizabeth.

KIN OF RABIES VICTIM TREATED
Twenty-three relatives and neighbors of a Coraopolis woman, who died
from hydrophobia, will receive the second of a series of 14 treatments
against possible rabies infection next week.
The victim was Mrs. Laura BARTLEY, 37, of Thorn Run road, the mother of
six small children. She had been bitten slightly by a pet puppy she was
feeding.
Mrs. Levi MEYERS, a sister-in-law of the dead woman, said Mrs. BARTLEY
was attempting to feed the dog. It refused to eat, so she forced his
mouth open with her fingers, receiving a slight scratch from her pet's
teeth.
Mrs. BARTLEY laughed about the incident, Mrs. MEYERS said, and jokingly
asked:
"What if the dog is mad?"
Three days later she died.
Among those being treated by Dr. H.B. SPEER, of 1100 Main street,
Coraopolis, against the infection, were I.W. NEWBERG, a brother-in-law
of the BARTLEYS; his wife and five children; Mrs. Edward THOMPSON, a
neighbor and her three children; Mr. and Mrs. George MEYERS, other
relatives of the BARTLEYS; Ben WEHNER and the BARTLEY's six children.

Died of His Injuries -
a flagman on the P, V & C R R, had several ribs broken
and was internally injured while working about a switch at Dravosburg
the other day. He was brought to his home, 2-2 Franklin street,
Allegheny, where he died on yesterday of his injuries. The Coroner
has been notified and will hold an inquest on his body today.
Deceased leaves a widow and several children.

Dr. Fred Battaglia Dies; Headed Staff -
Hospital Official Practiced Pediatrics in City 22 Years;
Funeral Services Arranged For Monday Morning
Dr. Fred I. Battaglia, 49, pediatrician and president of
the medical staff at McKeesport Hospital, died yesterday at 3:30 p.m.
He was stricken ill at his home, 1201 Summit St., White Oak, and
was taken to the hospital, where he died three hours later.
Dr. Battaglia, who practiced pediatrics in the city for the
past 22 years, was a member of the Academy of Medicine and the St.
Mary's German Roman Catholic Church. He was born Nov. 8, 1907, in
Pittsburgh, a son of Anthony and Ninfa Gurgiola Battaglia.
After receiving his degree at St. Louis University in 1932, he served
a year's internship at McKeesport Hospital. From 1933 to 1935, he was
pediatric resident intern at St. Louis University Hospital.
Dr. Battaglia did post-graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents of Pittsburgh, he is survived by his widow,
Mrs. Frances Reeder Battaglia; two sons, A. Mark and Charles R., and a
daughter, F. Catherine, all at home; and five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Sgarlata
of McKeesport, Mrs. Theresa Albo of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Robert Haller of
Wilkinsburg, Miss Adeline Battaglia of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Kasimir J.
Piekarski of Baltimore, Md.
Friends are being received at the Volk-Jaycox Funeral Home. The Rev.
William C. Fromme will sing solemn high mass of requiem Monday in St.
Mary's German Church and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Miss Jane Baughman, aged about 21, of Wilkinsburg, daughter of J. Ira
and Mrs. Bessie McQuillan Baughman, died in Wilkinsburg on Saturday
morning at ten o'clock of diabetes. She is survived by her parents and
one sister, Rae Baughman. Funeral services will be held at Wilkinsburg
Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Miss Baughman was well known, and had many
friends in Tyrone, having visited, her grandparents, the late Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas McQuillan, 1312 Bald Eagle avenue on many occasions. She
attended the funeral of her grandmother in Tyrone recently.

BAUMAN, Gerald
Heroic Effort at Rescue - a 13-year-old boy living at 1800 Cliff street, was
drowned in the Allegheny river near the dock of the Pittsburg &
Western railroad yesterday afternoon. BAUMAN and a number of
companions went in bathing at that point about 4 o'clock. BAUMAN
could not swim very well and soon got beyond his depth. When he cried
for assistance, John LICKS, a circus employee, went to his rescue but
the boy had gone down for the third time before LICKS could reach him.
LICKS dived into the water where BAUMAN had gone down and promptly
recovered the body. It was carried to the circus mess tent and an
effort made to resuscitate, but this proved fruitless. The body of
the drowned boy was removed to the parents' home and and the coroner
notified. This makes the third drowning that has occurred in the past
10 days.

BEALOR
MARKELSVILLE MARCH 10TH
Mrs. Nancy Gilson Bealor, widow of D.R.P. Bealor died at Alleghney
City,Pa., on the 4th of June inst. She was born at McAlisterville Juniata
County September 25, 1829 and was a daughter of John P. and Hannah G.
Thompson. She was the eldest of a family of seven children. Alexander
Thompson died in 1869, Col. J.M. Thompson, late of the 49th infantry, P.V.
died in 1874. Major James B. Thompson of the 1st Pennsylvania
Bucktails, died in 1875, Jane G. who was the wife of E.P. Titzel of
Millerstown died in 1889. Mrs. C.A.Smith of Lewistown died in December
last. But one of the family remains, Mrs. D.G. Alter of Port Royal.
Early in the fifties the subject of this sketch was married to Mr.
Bealor. For several years they resided at West Fairview, Cumberland
County. Then they move to this place and erected buildings on the farm
purchased from his father, John Bealor remaining about twenty years.
After Mr. Bealor returned from the war they sold their property and
moved to Harrisburg. From there they moved to Port Royal, going to
Alleghney City in 1883 where Mr. Bealor died in 1893.
Nine children were the fruit of this union. Rebecca J. and James B. died
in infancy. Seven survived as follows: John T, David G, Budd G, Jesse L,
Nanie, and Bertie all of Alleghney City, and Mrs. August Walkmyer of
Pittsburg.
Mre Bealor united with the Presbyterian church at an early age, but after
her marriage joined the Lutheran Church with her husband, living and
dying a devot member of the same. She was an affectionate wife and
fond mother. Her Christian virtues are worthy of emulation.
The body was conveyed to this place and inturred in the cemetery
yesterday.

There was no year given in the files of the Perry County Historical society and
the obit was clipped from a paper with no reference to name or date. It has to
be before 1927 because the obit mentions her sister Mrs. D.G. ALter (Hannah
Isabelle Thompson ALter) as the only living sibling and she was alive until
1927.

Jeannie Ibbotson Bear, 56 years old, beloved wife of David Bear, died
at her late residence, 16 Forbes Terrace, on Sunday, September Sixth.
She was a member of Rodef Shalom Congregation and active in the Jewish
Council for Women, the Montefiore Hospital, the Pittsburgh Home for
Babies, Treasurer of the Pittsburgh Theosophical Society, a member of
the Civic Club, and was an active worker for the Red Cross during the
war.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons S Lee and Marshall
Bear; a daughter, Jeannette Bear; and two sisters, Mrs H C Perrott of
Beaver Falls and Mrs Char--- Bederman of Canton, O.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, September Ninth, at
Samson's undertaking establishment with Rabbi S H Goldenson
officiating. Interment in West View Cemetery.

BEATTY - FORMER RESIDENT OF BLAIRSVILLE DIES IN CRASH
Clifton L. Beatty, 24, Fatally Injured Early Sunday Morning, When Motorcycle Hit
Parked Car
A former Blairsville youth employed by a Pittsburgh newspaper was fatally
injured in Pittsburgh yesterday morning when a motorcycle collided with a parked
automobile. The victim, Clifford L. Beatty, 24, of Pittsburgh, an employee of
the "Sun-Telegraph," was riding with Howard Ripple, another employee of the
newspaper, who was delivering papers, when the collision occurred. Beatty was
in the sidecar of the motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into a parked car in
Second avenue. Beatty suffered a fracture of the skull and internal injuries and
was pronounced dead at the Mercy Hospital. Ripple was uninjured. The body was
removed to Ferguson Funeral Home in Blairsville.
Clifton L. Beatty was born in Conemaugh, March 31, 1908, a son of Christopher B.
Beatty and Luella (Humphrey) Beatty. The family later removed to Blairsville,
where Mr. Beatty was a well-known employee of the freight department of the
Pennsylvania Railroad Company. He died in 1924 and is buried in the Blairsville
Cemetery. The victim resided with his mother in Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home in Blairsville at
2:30 p.m. tomorrow in charge of the Rev. Joseph C. Stuart, minister of the First
Presbyterian Church of Blairsville. Burial will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.

BEATTY -
Cora Martha Pebler of Pittsburgh, wife of the late Henry B. Pebler, passed away
Tuesday, March 6, at 4:45 a.m. in the Columbia Hospital, Wilkinsburg. She was
born in Beyer, Indiana County, Pa., on September 13, 1884, a daughter of
Theodore Burton and Jennie Elsworth Beatty. Mrs. Pebler, who was a resident of
Pittsburgh for the past 57 years, was a member of the Homewood Presbyterian
Church and the Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary. She is survived by a
brother Theodore B. Beatty and a sister Mrs. Lottie M. Luckock, both of
Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at the Hill Funeral Home, Church Street,
after 7 p.m. today where services will be held on Friday, March 9, at 2 p.m. The
Rev. Edward J. Phinn of the Homewood Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

BEATTY, Eliza, W. November 28, 1918
Ills, incident to advanced age, caused the death of Mrs. Eliza
Wilson Beatty, aged 93 years, at her home in Wilkensburg, Pa. on
Thursday ( Thanksgiving ) . Mrs. Beatty was widow of Richard Beatty,
who died about 14 years ago.
She was a kind hearted Christian woman, whom to know was to
love, honor, and esteem. She is survived by three sons, Richard W. and
John W., of Pittsburgh. and James W. of Wilkensburgh; and five
daughters, Mrs. T.D. Turner, of Wilkensburg, Mrs. F. H. Callahan of
Connequenessing, Pa. and Mrs H.M. Lowry of Indiana, and Misses Sarah and
Mary, at home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, interment
being made in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh

BEATTY, Floyd A.
Floyd A. Beatty, Allendale Street, Sheridan, Pittsburgh, passed away
Wednesday, September 29, 1965.
He was the father of Robert G., Saxonburg, the brother of Ralph E.,
Sheridan, and Edward M., Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday at the H.L. Speer
Funeral Home, Inc., 2927 Chartiers Avenue, Sheridan, Pittsburgh. Friends
are being received from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM both today and Friday at the
Funeral Home.

BEATTY, Mrs. Wilma G. August 16, 1917
The sudden death of Mrs. Wilma Gilbert Beatty, wife of Floyd Beatty,
occurred at her home in Butler, Pa., on August 16, 1917. She was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Gilbert, deceased, and was born and
raised in Indiana.
For some years she made her home with T. A. and Miss Daisy Gilbert in
this place. She is survived by her husband and one child. The remains
were broughy to Indiana Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were held
at the home of T.A. Gilbert on Saturday afternoon, interment being made
in Greenwood Cometery.

widow of John Beatty, who died Friday at her home, 122 Hutchison Ave., Edgewood.
Mrs. Beatty was a member of one of the pioneer families of this community.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs John C. Bowser, Mrs. M.C. Wylie, Mrs. Harry
C. Jones, of Edgewood, three sons, Guy H. of Pittsburgh, Dr. John K. of
Swissvale, and H.K. Beatty of Filmore, Wyoming., and three sisters, three
brothers, Mrs. Harvey Huston, Ford City, Mrs. James Piper, Manorville,
Mrs. William Jeffries, Plant City, Florida, Mrs. A.C. Bailey, Ashland, Kentucky,
Ross Beatty and William Beatty, Manor Township, also nine grand children.

BEATTY, John W. - September 29, 1924
The death of John W. Beatty, Art Director Emeritus, of Carnegie
Art Gallery, Pittsburgh, occurred at Clifton Springs, New York, on
September 29. Mr. Beatty had not been well during the summer, but was
not thought to be in a critical condition, and had gone to Clifton
Springs for treatments. His end came suddenly Sunday morning.
Mr. Beatty was a native of Pittsburgh, and for 25 years was Art
Director of Carnegie Art Gallery, relinquishing his office in 1922 when
in need of recuperation.
He was successful in all his undertakings, and to him is due
the credit for the great Art Exhibitions held in Pittsburgh. Possessed
of an affable, pleasing address, he made friends of all with whom he
came in contact. He was a Christian noble man in every respect. His
death is a great lose to Pittsburgh and to Arts in the world at large.
He held a greater acquaintance among world wide artists than any other
living man. He nade many trips to Europe to secure the best works of
Art for his annual Art exhibitions.
He is survived by his wife, a son John, Jr., and two daughters,
Misses Helen and Katherine. He was a brother of Mrs. Lowry, wife of the
Editor of the Indiana Times.
The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon.

BEATTY
Mrs. Laura M. Beatty, whose death has already been noted in this paper, was the
wife of Harry Beatty, of Pittsburgh, and a former resident of Indiana. She died
in the St. John's hospital in Pittsburgh, on Tuesday, June 22, aged 46 years.
Death was due to inflammation of the bowels. Mrs. Beatty was a member of the
Woodsfield, O., Methodist Episcopal church and was a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Valentine Bowers, of Indiana. She is survived by her husband and five
sisters. The funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. Eldor
Peelor, Thursday afternoon, at 3 o'clock by Dr. J. W. Cary. The interment was
made in Oakland cemetery.

BEATTY, Richard W. - November, 1919
The sudden death from heart failure of Richard W. Beatty
occurred at his home in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon. Mr. Beatty was
formerly a wholesale commission merchant in Pittsburgh, but because of
ill health, he had lived retired for the past two years. He is survived
by his wife, and a daughter, Mrs. Donaldson, wife of Dr. H.H. Donaldson,
of Pittsburgh. He is the brother of Mrs. H.M. Lowry of Indiana. The
funeral will be held Thursday forenoon.

BEATTY, Richard, Sr. - July 11, 1900
Mr. Richard Beatty, Sr., of this town, died of pneumonia at his
home in Wilkensburg last Wednesday July 11, at the age of 80 years. The
deceased had been ill for about three months. He was born at Glasgow,
Scotland, and came to this country with his parents when a child. They
located in Pittsburg. remaining there until their death some years ago.
Richard Beatty was for many years a commission merchant on
Liberty Street, Pittsburg. The greater portion of his life he resided
in Wilkensbirg. On March 28, 1848, Mr. Beatty was united in marriage to
Miss Eliza Wilson of Wilkensburg. To them were born eight children.,
all of whom, with his wife, survive him.
Funeral services were held at Mr. Beatty's late home on North
Avenue, Wilkensburg Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Dr. W. Miles,
pastor of the Wilkensburg M.E. Church and Rev. Dr. Knox, presiding elder
of the Allegheny District of the M.E. Church. Interment was made in
Homewood Cemetery

BEATTY
Mrs. Sarah Jane MCCLAIN BEATTY, aged 85 years, died Friday, January 14,
1916, at her home, 613 Florence avenue, Avalon, after an illness of
pneumonia. She was born in County Down, Ireland, and came to the United
States and settled in Pittsburgh in 1851. She was married to William J.
BEATTY in 1851. She was an aunt of the late George E. SMITH, better known
as "Pittsburgh Phil". Mrs. BEATTY had been a member of the Fifth United
Presbyterian Church, Northside, Pittsburgh, for more than thirty years, and
at the time of her death was a member of the Avalon Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by six daughters and five sons: Mrs. Mary J. DEMINGS of
Avalon, with whom Mrs. BEATTY made her home; Mrs. James L. REED of the East
End, Mrs. Emma RODGERS and Mrs. D. W. JAMES of the Northside, Mrs. Carrie
FINCH of the West End, Mrs. Robert GRAHAM of Cleveland, Ohio; Samuel of
Butler, William J. of Akron, Ohio; Henry H. of McDonald; Andrew K. of
Roswell, Pa., and James of Wilkinsburg. There are thirty-nine grandchildren
and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mrs. BEATTY was a frequent visitor in
McDonald and was quite well known here.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anne L. Beck, 66, widow of Oswald G. Beck, who
died Friday in her home at 44 High street, Etna, will be held this afternoon at
2:30 o'clock in her home. Private burial will be in Mt. Royal cemetery.
Mrs. Beck, the former Anne Stewart, was a descendant of the Stewarts, whose name
was given to the community when it was called Stewartstown. Later it was
incorporated as Etna, the name it now bears.
